“The wise man’s ‘maybe’ signifies a refusal to judge anything that happens. Instead of judging what is, he accepts it and so enters in to conscious alignment with the higher order.”
“This is my secret… I do not mind what happens. Do not label what happens as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, just let it be.”
“There is only this moment as it is. Events are not personalized. He is nobody’s victim. He is so completely at one with what happens and that what happens has no power over him anymore.”
“Only if you resist what happens are you at mercy of what happens, and the world will determine your happiness and unhappiness.”
“The decision to make the present moment into your friend is the end of the ego.”
“Almost every thought you think is then concerned with past for your identity and future for its fulfillment.”
“The ego sees the present as:
- A means to an end: you are never fully present because you are always busy trying to get somewhere. This causes stress and frustration. Yet, for every problem that is solved, another one pops up. Do not look at the present as an obstacle.”
- An enemy: but if it is war you want, it is war you will get. If you complain about reality, life, the present, it will not improve.”
“External reality, which already reflects back to you your inner state (reality is a creation of the mind), is experienced as ‘hostile’ only if you perceive it as bad, horrible, hard or annoying.”
The 4th of March 2016 could be a ‘bad’ day just as it could be a ‘good’ day. All of this depends on what you make of it. Therefore, the answer is not to make anything of it.
“What we speak of is ‘psychological time’; the elimination of it. It refers to the egoic mind’s endless preoccupation with the past and the future and its unwillingness to be one with life by living in alignment with the inevitable ‘isness’ of the present moment.”
“Nonresistance is the key to the greatest power in the universe. Resistance makes the world and the things in the world seem more real, more solid, more lasting than they are. It gives the ego too much importance.”
“Events, judgements, people and situations soon dissolve into nothingness, as if they were part of a dream.”
“You are present when what you are doing is not primarily a means to an end (making money, getting good grades, working out etc.), but fulfillment itself; when there is joy and aliveness in what you do and when you are friendly with the present moment.”
“Accept the present moment; find perfection that is deeper than any form and untouched by time.”
“Do nothing when someone criticizes you or calls you names. Nothing real (except the ego, which isn’t even tangible) has been diminished.” The only time something has been ‘diminished’, is when you say it has been.
“You will not be happier later than you are now, that is an illusion.”
“Your primary/inner purpose is doing what you are doing right now, not later (in life). Do not try to find a bigger purpose in life. Let everything/everyone come at you and do not think that you are going to change your faith.”
Three modalities of awakened doing (being fully present):
Acceptance (you are at peace with what you are doing, it is also active because you are sending peace/conscious energy into what you are doing)
Enjoyment (enjoyment in what you are doing)
Enthusiasm (deep enjoyment with a goal and a vision)
If you are not in either one of these states, you are creating suffering for yourself and for others.
